BIBLICAL VIRTUE GROUP

Because I value God's teaching in the Bible, I choose to believe and follow its teachings.

What To Believe

The Trinity

The Bible teaches the one true God has chosen to reveal Himself in three eternal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are infinite, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all, ever present and equal partners in creation and redemption.

I choose to believe the Bible teaching of the Trinity.

Definition

The Trinity related virtue: Godhead.

The Trinity means: There is one God "family": Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; a unity of three eternal Persons. They are infinite, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all, ever present, and partners in creation and redemption.

Student Life Applications

Since the Bible teaches there is one God and that He has revealed Himself in three divine Persons, each with special attributes, I will:

Learn from the Bible about each Person of the Trinity so that I will better understand what they can and are doing for my salvation; avoid misunderstanding about worshiping many gods; worship the one true God who is so great that He reveals Himself in three different Persons to help us understand His loving nature and their work for our salvation.

Student Activities

1. Perfect Agreement: Establish an obstacle course. e.g. around a tree, under a swing, over a box twice, etc. Form trios. Have each trio link arms to form a small circle, then move through the obstacle course. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are linked and agree on everything.. They work together more easily than we can move together
2. I Want To Know You: Form teams of 4 and form a conversation circle. Teacher starts a sentence and group discuss the finish. e.g. Some things that God does for us.. .. ..
Some words that describe God are.. .. ..
God spends his time.. .. .. ..
What God loves most is.. .. ..
3. Getting to Know You: Cut 3x5 cards in half. Write the names of Bible characters on separate cards. Tape a card to each student’s forehead, but don’t let that student see the name on his own head. Students must ask each other questions that answer yes or no to find out who they are. Read John 14:9-11 and talk about what we know about God.

“There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal Persons. God is immortal, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all, and ever present.
