BIBLICAL VIRTUE GROUP Because I value God's teaching in the Bible, I choose to believe and follow its teachings. |
|
I choose
to believe the Bible teaching of the Life of Christ. |
Life of Christ related virtues: Obedience, suffering, victory. Through Christ's life of perfect obedience to God's will, His suffering, death, and resurrection. God provided the only means of paying for, and escaping from sin. The resurrection of Jesus Christ proclaims God's victory over sin.

Know that God has fully paid the price for my sins and
that I will be right with Him if I accept it and live in His Grace; |
“The Son of God leaving His Father’s throne,
clothing His divinity with humanity, that He might rescue man from the
power of Satan. His triumph in our behalf, opening heaven to men, revealing
to human vision the presence chamber where the Deity unveils His glory;
the fallen race uplifted from the pit of ruin into which sin had plunged
it, and brought again into connection with the infinite God, and having
endured the divine test through faith in our Redeemer clothed in the righteousness
of Christ, and exalted to His throne— these are the pictures which
God would have us contemplate. SC 118.

1. Prepare a colored hearts with a word each from
1 John 4:19 and hide the hearts around the room for the students to find
and assemble the verse. For several groups, use different colored paper
per group. |
2. Have each student write one incident from the
earthly life of Jesus. Then have the class put them all in chronological
order. They may use their Bibles to help find the sequence. |

English: Pronouns are substitutes for nouns. Jesus is our Substitute. Health: A microscope magnifies small organisms, Christ's death magnifies the value of each soul. |
Physics: Sound waves move faster in solids than in liquids. So the gospel can move in very hard hearts. |

The Children’s Hour, by Arthur S. Maxwell, R&H. 1945 In Christ's life of perfect obedience to God's will, His suffering, death, and resurrection, God provided the only menas of atonement for human sin, so that those who by faith accept this atonement may have eternal life, and the whole creation may better understand the infinite and holy love of the Creator. This perfect atonment vindicates the righteousness of God's law and the graciousness of His character; for it both condemns our sin and provides for our forgiveness. The death of Christ is substitutionary and expiatory, reconciling and transforming. The resurrection of Christ proclaims God's triumph over the forces of evil, and for those who accept the atonement assures their final victory over sin and death. It declares the Lordship of Jesus Christ, before whom every knee in heaven and on earth will bow. Fundamental Beliefs, 9 |
