Second Coming

The Bible teaches that Jesus coming again soon. Therefore, I will get ready for Him and help others to do the same.

 

I choose to believe the Bible teaching of the Second Coming.

Definition

Second Coming related virtues: Personal advent, real, soon, visible to whole world.

Second coming means: Jesus coming will be real, personal and visible to all worldwide. When He returns, His people, the 'righteous' will be taken to heaven, but the rest will die.

Student Life Applications

Seeing the events in the world which fulfill the description of the time just before Jesus is to return.
Knowing that God's Word is sure and just as He left He will return.
Knowing He will not come secretly but every eye will see Him.
Knowing the Bible teaching about His soon coming will help prepare me for that day.
Knowing the Bible teaching about His soon coming will help me avoid believing a false Christ.
Living in a way so I will be ready when Jesus comes, trusting in Him.
Telling others so they will get ready for Jesus to come.
Knowing that the sin and terror of this world will not last forever.
Trusting that Jesus will care for me in the last days before He comes.
Knowing that no one knows the day or hour of His coming except for God so people setting dates will be wrong.

The second coming of Christ is the blessed hope of the church, the grand climax of the gospel. The Savior's coming will be literal, personal, visible, and worldwide. When He returns, the righteous dead will be resurrected, and together with the righteous living will be glorified and taken to heaven, but the unrighteous will die. The almost complete fulfillment of most lines of prophecy, together with the present condition of the world, indicates that Christ's coming is imminent. The time of that event has not been revealed, and we are therefore, exhorted to be ready at all times.---Fundamental Beliefs, 24
