Responsibility

I can count on God. He will always do what He says. He is faithful in His work and fulfills His promises.

I choose to be responsible.

Definition

Responsibility related virtues: Accountability, cause and effect, commitment, finish the task, following instructions, good intentions, endurance, persistence, perseverance.

Responsibility means: Faithfully doing the job that was assigned at home, faithfully doing jobs assigned at school, accepting the consequences of your choice, setting a good example for those who look up to you, pursuing, doing one's duty, pursuit of excellence.

Student Life Applications

Workers doing their jobs:

1. Clerks filling the shelves of the store.
2. People pulling weed in the garden.
3. People hoeing the garden.
4. Student feeding the chickens.
5. Student washing windows.
6. Student hanging up the shirt he took off.

Student Activities

1. Reliable promise keeper: Color or paint rainbows on paper plates and hang by colored yarn. Remembering that God made a promise to Noah that He has kept.
2. Reliability: Place a rock inonehand and sand in th eother hand of each student. Walk around and pour water ont he hands of the students. Ask which handful is the more reliable. Which would you rather build your house on? Jesus is compared to the Rock of Ages.

English: Rewriting manuscripts takes perseverance and with God's help I will persevere in my duties.
Health: Each body organ can be counted on to function voluntarily so should each church member.
Home Economics: Family duties can be divided as the Levites duties were divided.
Math: Constant terms are reliable and dependable, so we should be.
Physics: An object has bouyant force equal to the weight of the object even so we should carry responsibilities according to our abilities.
Social Studies: Ambassadors are responsible for their countries' reputations, even so, Christians are responsible for God's reputation.

Primary:

Tell two ways that you can show responsibility.
What makes you want to be responsible?
What is the opposite of responsibility? Who makes us act that way?
Finish the sentence: We can be responsible when we..........

Middle:
Why does God care if I am responsible?
What difference does it make whether I am responsible or not?
What effect would it have on my future if I did not choose to be responsible?
How would people treat me differently if I did or didn’t choose to be responsible?
How would I feel about myself if I did or did not choose to be responsible?
Give some reasons why you think it is best to be responsible. Why would someone do differently?
What makes choosing to be responsible better than the opposite?
List some ways that a person might be responsible without anyone noticing?
List 3 situations where a person could be responsible in his work, home, or at the shopping mall.
Is it possible for a person to get better at being responsible? Explain.
Can you think of someone who seems good at being responsible? What makes them better at it?
How could you learn to be better at responsibility?
How often do you show responsibility? Think of the last three times and tell me.

High school:
Would you practice responsibility if no one was checking on you? Your parents, school, or the law?
What is the alternative to responsibility and what do you see as the results of that choice?
Would you recognize it if someone was not fully responsible? How?
Would you keep quiet if someone paid you a lot of money not to be responsible?
Are you proud to be responsible and willing to tell others how you feel?
If someone in a group spoke out against responsibility would you speak up to give the other side?
Are you willing to put some of your money toward supporting responsibility in your city, class, work?
Can you say that being responsible has become a habit? How often are you that way?
What effect do you think responsibility will have on your future life?
Do you see your family practicing responsibility? How about your church, city, or nation?
What do you think should be done to promote responsibility in your family, friends, church, city, nation?
